On Tuesday, March 17 evening, a bit temperamental hit Battle.net. Players accessing from across the region reported issues like getting disconnected from games, signing process taking a lot of time, or unable to log in. This outage, lag, and disconnect happened in all-World of Warcraft, Overwatch, and Call of Duty players.

This attack has caused frustration and annoyance among players especially new ones. The result of the same can be seen on the twitter handle of Blizzard.
Users concerns:
- Hour-long queues to get into a game
- We are kicked award game
- We are thrown back in the queue

In particular, Call of Duty: Warzone players faced more problems. In a statement on Twitter, Blizzard assures customers that they are aware of the issues and will fix soon. “We’re currently investigating an issue affecting our authentication servers, which may result in failed or slow login attempts.”

Blizzard also confirms that a DDoS attack is a reason behind this outage.

Moving forward, Blizzard also stated that: Instead of Blizzard itself, the denial-of-service attack seems to be directed from ISPs. Due to a DDoS attack towards ISPs, players are encountering disconnections and high latency. The situation is currently under the monitor and continuous update will be shared with you as per the availability.

Including Blizzard, a lot of gaming services have seen a traffic spike. The reason being, due to coronavirus outbreak more people are self-isolating themselves at home. This enhanced load coupled with the latest release, just this week: Warzone can also be a reason. As it is a free to play version of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare. Xbox Live service of Microsoft also got offline twice this week due to amplified demand on the system. Ubisoft, Origin, and Rockstar also faced outages. Connecting this issue with Coronavirus seems to be funny, but it?s true. As to combat Coronavirus, Japan has originated a largescale shutdown.

After a significant DDoS attack,Battle.net servers are now coming back online. Though, servers are up, back and running now. Yet, in some games, they are reflecting some ambiguity.
