A 19-year-old George Duke-Cohan teen hacker was arrested by British National Crime Agency (NCA) on 31st August for his involvement in the ProtonMail DDoS attack. He was also responsible for making hoax bomb threats to thousands of schools and airlines; and Tutanota secure email services.

Attackers are performing a new phishing attack and targeting WordPress sites to create serious problems for site owners and users. In these campaign attackers uses an email that is designed to look like a legitimate WordPress request prompting users to upgrade their database immediately.

British Airways “The World’s Favorite Airline” hacked that exposed personal details and credit-card numbers of up to 380,000 customers and lasted for more than two weeks.

888Poker became the latest victim of DDoS attack; players experienced disconnections from tables and were unable to act. On September 5, the first wave of disruptions took place around 3 pm BST, several players reported connectivity issues on social media and poker forums.

Security researchers have discovered that Apple’s app store is collecting and filtering the sensitive user’s data.

Organization should be on alert for cyber attacks. There is a latest Ransomware threat “Ryuk” that attempts to encrypt network resources. This targeted many sectors including medical sector and encrypting hundreds of PCs and data centers.
